Sorely Missed, but not Missing

After a horribly long and forced hiatus to fix a broken computer, I am completely jazzed to say that I am back! The last few weeks or so have been quite a whirlwind of activity (alright, not really) and I wanted to do a quick recap before I started posting regularly.

+ Pittsburgh Pride was fantastic! I'm really proud of this city for allowing such an awesome event to grow with each passing year. There were so many fabulous people to be seen and there were even people that came in from other areas to come here (that's kind of amazing, as it seems I have created ten million ways to leave, up-to and including driving to a place I've never been and pretending to have amnesia like those people that you always see on Unsolved Mysteries that have no idea who they are. You know those motherfuckers are lying and just don't want to pay their bills). I took the old camera to this event, so the photos aren't wonderful, but I did take this gem and I'm quite proud of it.

+ My car has been fixed! It looks incredibly awesome and I'm feeling so incredibly chic in my wagon. Margo is hot stuff.

+/- A new job. I'm not quite sure how I feel about that. I'll get back to you.

+ I FINALLY found a purse that was ON SALE. It's amazingly similar to a $148 dollar bag that I couldn't get out of my mind...for only $39 (it looks exactly this, except it's black canvas with camel patches and gray straps). I didn't think that Urban Outfitters had anything that was under seventy dollars...even the earrings.

- Dustin is going to be gone for another two months, at least. I need to stop worrying so much about money, jobs and our future and just try to enjoy the present as much as I can. I was talking with my mother today and she said that no one really knew how bad things were for us before he left to take this job in Iraq. I found that really amazing, considering the amazing personal strife that we were going through. I guess you just assume that everyone understands what it's like, but really...only clearly communicating to those that you want to understand will yield any kind of resolution. I guess I just never wanted to be a burden.

- Bertrand knocked over my tart burner and spilled wax all over the carpet. It's red wax...of course. Turd.

+ I found Disc One of the BBC cooking show, "Two Fat Ladies," and I've watched it twice already! This was a show that I would often watch with my grandmother...even though we didn't like most of the food that they cooked and would never imagine making it. When I watch it, I often think of her. I can't wait to get the rest of the DVD set! I've found that I'm slowly adopting more British turns of phrase (ha!) with every passing BBC show I view. It's really annoying. I'm excited to share this show with Dustin when he comes home. I know he'll love the ladies, too.Best Blogger Tips
